Amazing August
Well, the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival capped off an incredible 2 weeks of very intense fiddling activity. We played there with the Old-Time Kozmik Trio and with a number of excellent Berklee students. I also sat in with my old boss David Grisman, and did a wonderful set with fellow ArtistWorks professors Tony Trischka and Bryan Sutton. Amazing moments abounded: the incredible Hot Rize, Del McCoury Band, the Steeldrivers, the various Berklee groups, and on and on. This after a great week on Mount Shasta with a high-level acoustic music conference led by Tristan and Tashina Clarridge.
Just picking up the pieces and getting ready for an intensive Blugrass Fiddle teaching week at Augusta Heritage in Elkins, West Virginia: the oldest Roots Music camp in existence!
Then out West again for a big West Coast Tour starting with the Northwest String Summit, in which i appeared with Yonder Mountain and with my own group, the Furies. played in Ashland, Oregon, Winters CA, at the Frieght & Salvage in Berkeley, CA, the Dance Palace in Pt. Reyes, and at Don Quixote's in Boulder Creek.
Then we sent part of the band home and continued up into the Sierra Nevada foothills for a couple more fanbulous shows with Rushad, Emy, and Sharon.
...AND! i got to visit and say hello to some of my amazing students here on the ArtistWorks site!
Here's to you guys, and thanks for coming out to the concerts!

Now I'm back home to start a whole new Berklee semester and to continue adding more and more value to the ArtistWorks Fiddling School!
I have new lessons planned, and some advanced backup and jamming ideas, as well as more Basic material.
I'm hoping to have 2 new interviews up soon... just waiting for the folks at the office to have a minute to spare for that! They are so busy!
