Andy Interviews Sierra Hull at RockyGrass 2018
For a week before the RockyGrass Festival begins, a select number of eager musicians from all over the globe make their way to the festival grounds to take their reserved spot in the RockyGrass Academy. From small classes with professional musicians, to sessions on group jamming, vocal coaching, songwriting, and one-on-one instruction, these people become students for a week spending the day swimming in music knowledge and creating long-term relationships with fellow musicians from all over the world.
This past year, our master dobro player Andy Hall was selected to participate as a RockyGrass faculty member and world-class dobro instructor. Him, along with many talented bluegrass musicians, led classes and group jams throughout the week sharing their knowledge, skills, tips, and tricks with everyone in the academy.
As some of you may know, Andy’s trip was cut short due to his tour with The Infamous Stringdusters. Before he left, however, he made sure to stop by the ArtistWorks RV to meet with the talented mandolin virtuoso, Sierra Hull (who was also teaching that weekend), for an interview. You can find Part 1 of the interview on our YouTube channel: HERE! The rest of the interview will be exclusive for ArtistWorks members only.
At ArtistWorks, we have a top notch Bluegrass Academy consisting of phenomenal pickers:
