April is Wild.
April is the wildest month. A sprint to the finish line, with tons of shows interspersed with teaching at Berklee.
Starting with a huge blowout all-star acoustic revue in Denver with some really great Colorado fiddlers ( Katie Glassman, Adam Glodblum, Enion Pelta) a duet show with Emy Phelps in Portsmouth, NH and an amazing concert with banjo genius Ron Cody, cellist Mike Block and singer Heather Masse at One Longfellow Square in Portland, Maine; celebrating Ron's brand new CD of jazz standards... very special. see my concerts page at http://www.darolanger.com
... Somehow, also fit in a Bluegrass benefit concert for One Longfellow with Brittany Haas and mandolinist Joe Walsh, banjo genius Wes Corbett, and Della Mae guitarist Courtney Hartmann. And a wonderful house concert in Boston with Emy Phelps and Tony Rice's long-time mandolinist Sharon Gilchrist.
A tragic disruption of Berklee Life came to pass this month, with the unexpected passing of the towering mandolin and guitar presence John McGann, teacher and player Super-Extraordinaire. He can never be replaced.
I made a guest concert appearance with Scottish Fiddle Master Alasdair Fraser, and am also finishing u[ a major recording projecct with the great Emy Phelps.
Mike Block and I also have a school teaching residency up in Oneonta, NY later in the month!
AND.. a rare Psychograss appearance at the Old Settlers' Festival, down Austin way!
