ArtistWorks Sponsors Wintergrass Intensives
The Wintergrass Music Festival in Bellevue, WA, isn’t just about listening to great bluegrass music, although you’ll find plenty to enjoy while you’re there. The four-day festival from February 20 – 23 also hosts a variety of workshops aimed at giving you new learning tools for playing your instrument.
All of the workshops are included in your festival ticket, so you can participate in a fully immersive musical experience. From fiddle, guitar, banjo and mandolin to bass lessons, songwriting workshops and full on jams, you can brush up on a variety of musical styles including neo-traditional Bluegrass, Celtic, and more. There are even workshops on incorporating other styles and rhythms into your bluegrass playing.
Of course, we at ArtistWorks are all about getting the most from your learning experience. To that end we are sponsoring the Wintergrass Intensives. Billed as serious musical study for serious musicians, the Intensive programs provide unique opportunities to learn face-to-face with noted industry professionals that go much deeper than the typical hour-long workshop. Intensive teachers include ArtistWorks’ innovative master multi-style cello instructor Mike Block.
Consisting of half and full day learning sessions, these Intensives are perfect for intermediate and advanced adult players who are ready to take their performance to a new level. The Wintergrass Intensives have limited enrollment, so adventurous students should check them out right away here.
This year’s Intensives include:
Darrell Scott - Songwriting
Mike Block (one of our ArtistWorks’ instructors!) - Global Music
Kate Lee & Forrest O’Connor - Voice & Guitar
Mikael Marin – Swedish Fiddle
Roger Tallroth – guitar
Olov Johansson – nyckelharpa
Joe Craven – rhythm boot camp
John Reischman - Mandolin
Trio Brasileiro - Choro
