The ArtistWorks Team Gives Thanks
Thanksgiving offers a unique opportunity to reevaluate your life and foster gratitude for your family, friends, health - and much more.
The ArtistWorks team has so much to be thankful for this year. To name a few: our dedicated instructors, our passionate students, and our committed colleagues. It takes each and every member of the ArtistWorks ecosystem to accomplish our mission: teaching the world music. Thank you for being a part of it.
To give some rare insight into the people behind ArtistWorks, we asked our team what they're most thankful for this time year. Here's what a few of them said:
Patricia, CEO
I'm thankful for the healing power of playing music, especially when the world around you is unfriendly. It isn't the holidays in my home until I hear Johnny Mathis sing "The Chrismas Song". I love our family's holiday tradition of gathering our adult children, drinking hot chocolate, and opening Christmas Crackers. We love reading the lame jokes inside the crackers and putting on our paper crowns.
Marcus, Production
I'm thankful to be constantly surrounded by great music and inspired by talented musicians in my daily life. This time of year, I enjoy the nostalgia of the classic holiday recordings like Bing Crosby, my holiday wildcard tune is Paul McCartney's "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time." This year, I particularly excited to see my family in Australia, where we'll enjoy warm summer weather and late sunsets together.
Adam, Customer Service
I'm thankful for all the beautiful colors of nature. This time of year, I love listening to "Good King Wenceslas" and having a relaxing time with my family.
Annie, Customer Service
I'm thankful for the wonderful people in my life! During the holidays, I listen to "Grown-Up Christmas List" sung by Barbara Steisand. Each year, I listen to that song while decorating my hours with my family and drinking a harvest blend tea (in my onesie, of course).
John, VP
I'm thankful to have a happy and healthy family. Each year, I listen to "Run Rudolph Run" by Chuck Berry and "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee (I love the subtle touches the guitar player throws in between each vocal line). I love getting my family in the car, listening to those songs, with a warm beverage in hand. We drive around looking at Christmas lights (it's my favorite holiday tradition).
Richard, HR & Finance
I'm thankful for my family and being able to live in such a beautiful part of the country! This time of year, I can't get enough of "Christmas Time's A-Comin" as originally recorded by Bill Monroe and "Run Run Rudolph" by Keith Richards. We all get the family together on Christmas Eve for dinner and this visit the grand kids on Christmas Day.
Dawn, Product
I'm thankful for my cats! Not my kid, my kid is rubbish. ... just kidding. I'm most thankful for my friends and family. This time of year, I love listening to the classics. I'm always playing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" by Judy Garland and anything by Bing Crosby (especially "White Christmas"). My favorite thing to do during the holidays is make (reheat) a big meal and binge on Hallmark holiday movies.
