Christie Peery-Skousen Celebrates 10 Years with ArtistWorks
A renowned classical pianist and instructor, Christie Peery-Skousen has been a part of ArtistWorks since we first launched in 2009!
Now celebrating 10 years of excellence with us, Christie is truly a unique talent who thoughtfully shares insight and instruction with her many students.
Christie won her first international competition at the age of 13, studied with Dmitri Boshkirov at the Gnessin School of Music in Moscow and later attended the Peabody Conservatory of Music of The Johns Hopkins University under Leon Fleisher.
She has performed numerous times as a soloist with symphony orchestras around the world and has won numerous national and international competitions. Christie currently serves as the Master Teacher and founder of Peery Piano Academy and is the author of the Peery Piano Habits Program, a conservatory level teaching and certification system.
Christie got her love of music from her mother, and shares this insight, “People often believed my mother got all the naturally talented students, but it’s important to note that talent isn’t all that is needed to be musical. Improving with music is possible for anyone, so long as they have a good teacher. It was amazing to see the transformations my mother’s students had through time.”
An inspired teacher can make such a difference and Christie strives to share that passion with each of her students. Read our interview with Christie about learning from her mother here. And congratulate her on 10 years with ArtistWorks!
