I'll be playing a big band Jazz concert Saturday night in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The music includes 2 of Jaco Pastorius' most famous compositions, "Liberty City" and "3 Views of a Secret", which both featured Toots Thielmanns. I hope to do justice to them, as well as to my tunes "Chorinho" and "One for McCoy", both arranged for big band by Scott Routenberg. On Sunday I play a concert in Decorah, Iowa with the great singer/songwriter/artist/and dear friend Bonnie Koloc. I will be really busy with these great gigs, and will try to get back to the school after that before the Trio Globo/Chicago Jazz Philharmonic concerts next week.
