Julian Lage Masterclass Series: April 2021
Join Julian Lage for his upcoming series of Guitar Study online Masterclasses, the first of which he’ll be hosting on April 11 followed closely by a second on April 18, each at 2pm ET / 11am PT.
In these online guitar lessons, Julian will explore the concept of musical interpretation in the context of both standards and original compositions. According to Julian, “Interpretation, to me, describes the strategies we invent to play the music we love in the ways we love. It is nuanced and personal, and takes on a different shape if we are interpreting standards vs. originals. It's endlessly fascinating to explore…”
Following each class, Julian will be performing a 30 min VIP solo set during which he’ll explore the topics covered in the preceding masterclass. Tickets are available for a single class or as a bundle. Reserve your virtual seat and learn more here.
And, don’t miss Julian this Thursday, April 1 at 12:00PM PT on our “Live Dispatch from Home, ‘Exploring the Styles of Jazz’” broadcast with ArtistWorks Jazz Piano instructor George Whitty, Fingerstyle Jazz Guitar teacher Martin Taylor, and special guest, virtuosic vibraphonist, Joe Locke. These four musical masters will take a deep dive into the rich culture of Jazz and discuss the genre's many unique complexities and nuances. Join us here for a great conversation and, of course, fantastic music!
