Live with Tony Trischka and Darol Anger
While the future of live music may seem uncertain for the time being, that isn’t stopping us from bringing your favorite musicians directly to your homes!
On the next episode of our new live streamed series “Live Dispatch from Home,” ArtistWorks’ CEO and Cofounder Patricia Butler will be joined by renowned banjo player Tony Trischka, as well as bluegrass fiddle master, Darol Anger. These two bluegrass icons will be sharing their thoughts and performing live music. Expect a Nashville-based mystery guest! Plus, they'll be taking questions from the audience so come prepared with yours. All are welcome!
This year Darol Anger was given the Distinguished Achievement Award by the International Bluegrass Music Association in honor of his recent album, Da Capo, with fellow ArtistWorks instructor Mike Marshall! During his acceptance speech Darol expressed reverence for the student/mentor relationships cultivated through bluegrass music. “It’s a wonderful thing to be part of a tradition that still depends so much on personal, apprentice-style mentoring to develop your skills.”
Progressive banjo player Tony Trischka is a legend and one of the major innovators of the “chromatic” banjo style, making him a unique voice in the world of bluegrass. He also produced Steve Martin’s GRAMMY-nominated Rare Bird Alert, which featured performances by Paul McCartney and the Dixie Chicks.
Tune in to our Facebook page on Wednesday, October 28th at 4:30PM Pacific to watch the show, and keep an eye out for more live broadcasts in the coming weeks!
