Indian Drummer Magazine recently spoke with the king of percussion, Luis Conte. They ask him teaching percussion lessons online, and how he sees his role when playing in a large band. His answer? 

"I am the salt & pepper in the food, or the cumin or the extra paprika. You have your meal and that’s the music, that’s the song. I call and I go 'This need a bit more salt or pepper'. So I add the extra spice." -  Luis Conte
