A ONE DAY CAMP FOR
YOUNG PEOPLE AGES 9-14 Beginners Welcome • Instruments Available
SATURDAY AUGUST 24 at the Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse
Open the doorway to the wonderful world of the mandolin with this one day fun-filled event
Students will learn:
holding the instrument, left & right hand basics
Simple chords and strumming patterns
tremolo • fiddle tunes • sing-alongs
bluegrass, classical, pop and folk songs melodies we all know and love
Caterina Lichtenburg is one of the world’s top classical mandolinists. Her 20 year touring and teaching career has taken her around the globe. Caterina holds the only Professor position in all of Europe at the Music Conservatory in Cologne, Germany.
Mike Marshall’s work with David Grisman, Chris Thile, Darol Anger, Edgar Meyer, Béla Fleck has pushed the boundaries of acoustic music. Mike created the Mandolin Symposium, a week long mandolin camp, and has published seven books on mandolin playing and is the mandolin teacher for the Artists Works Academy of Bluegrass online school.
