NAMM Show, Anaheim, California
I'm back in Scotland after spending the past three weeks in the USA.
After bringing in the New Year in San Francisco I flew up to Seattle to play six nights at Jazz Alley with Seattle based Gypsy Jazz band Pearl Django. I also recorded three tracks on their latest CD.
I was then able to spend a week in Napa at the Artistworks studio and filmed a lot of new content for the MTGA including a Guitar Conversations with Julian Lage.
I have filmed an entirely new section called Guided Arrangements which will be on the site once we have the transcriptions. I'm particularly looking forward to this section as I think it will take Video Exchanges to a new level. This is an opportunity for all my students to work with me as I guide them through creating their own "organic" arrangements. I have initially filmed eleven tunes and will add more later this year.
After a solo show in San Diego I headed up to Anaheim for the NAMM Show where I met up with James and Chris on the Artistworks stand and also got to play a few tunes with fellow Artistworks guitarist Andreas Oberg.
I also played a short set on the Peerless Guitars stand with my new Peerless "Martin Taylor Maestro" and "Virtuosos" guitars.
I'm going to be back in the MTGA studio here in Scotland in a day or two and look forward to filming responses to the video submissions you've sent me.
