New Podcast: Hugh Sung and "Can Talent be Taught?"
The ArtistWorks Music Series – our very own music podcast – has returned with a new episode, this time featuring our brilliant online piano lessons instructor, Hugh Sung. The show is available now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and anywhere you listen to podcasts, or you can check it out on our site.
In the episode, ArtistWorks CEO Patricia Butler and Sung delve into the subject of musical talent: are we born with inherent capabilities, or can talent be taught? We've heard from a number of ArtistWorks students who worry they don't have the "innate talent" required to learn an instrument. With this series, we hope to address this issue directly, while getting insight from our masterful instructors.
“The stress of perfection takes over the joy of playing," Sung comments. "What’s more important, to be correct or have some fun?”
On the ArtistWorks Music Series, Butler speaks with master musicians across all genres as they dive deep into topics like becoming a musician, playing at the professional level, and the journey of learning music. Over the coming weeks, we'll be spotlighting many artists and discussing all sorts of instruments and topics:
