New Podcast: Martin Taylor and "Can Talent be Taught?"
The ArtistWorks Music Series music podcast is back with a new episode, this time starring fingerstyle guitar virtuoso, Martin Taylor. The show is available now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and anywhere you listen to podcasts, or you can check it out on our site.
In the episode, ArtistWorks CEO Patricia Butler and Taylor delve into the subject of musical talent: are we born with inherent capabilities, or can talent be taught? We've heard from a number of ArtistWorks students who worry they don't have the "innate talent" required to learn an instrument. With this series, we hope to address this issue directly, while getting insight from our masterful instructors.
"I would just watch and listen to others; that’s how we learn to speak," Taylor says. "We copy those sounds, and I did the same with music."
On the ArtistWorks Music Series, Butler speaks with master musicians across all genres as they dive deep into topics like becoming a musician, playing at the professional level, and the journey of learning music. Over the coming weeks, we'll be spotlighting many artists and discussing all sorts of instruments and topics:
