Peter and Eric’s Adventure in Sardinia
On November 25th, 2018 two of ArtistWorks world-renowned instructors, Peter Erskine (Jazz Drums), and Eric Marienthal (Jazz Saxophone), performed together in Sanluri, Sardinia for the annual Culture Festival.
The Culture Festival, began in 2008, as an event that embraces all types of art including: music, theater, dance, literature, poetry, painting, sculpture, ceramics, cinema, photography, and more. Its goal is to promote the culture of Sardinia and its young artists in various fields.
ArtistWorks instructor Peter Erskine, began his career as a jazz drummer at the age of four, and has appeared on over 700 albums and film scores, and has won two Grammy® Awards, plus an Honorary Doctorate from the Berklee School of Music.
Eric Marienthal is a Grammy® award winning jazz saxophone player who studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston where he was awarded the Berklee Distinguished Alumnus Award for outstanding achievements in contemporary music. Later he became an integral member of the Chick Corea Elektric Band, where he recorded 6 albums and received 2 of his 5 Grammy nominations. He has since performed in over 80 different countries and has recorded 13 solo albums.
