On July 12, 2020, my musical mother Eleanor Sokoloff passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 106. Remarkably, she was still intending on returning to teach piano for another year at The Curtis Institute of Music this coming fall. I started my piano journey with her at the age of 8, and owe my musical foundation to her tutelage.
