Tony Interviews Alison Brown RockyGrass 2018
This just in! We have more, never before seen footage from our RockyGrass 2018 Interview Series! This video features our master banjo instructor, Tony Trischka as he interviews world renowned banjo player, Alison Brown. Best known as one of today’s finest progressive banjo players, Alison is a multi-IBMA and Grammy-award winning artist. She is recognized as a top-tier musician, composer, producer, and entrepreneur as she continues to pave the way for women in the industry as an influential icon of her time.
In Part 1 of the series, Tony and Alison kick off their interview by playing a beautiful banjo duet. Alison then discusses her custom made Deering John Hartford banjo, how it’s tuned lower than a normal banjo, why she has extra frets, and how she visited John’s daughter to choose some of his artwork to be embellished onto her instrument. Enjoy!
