In late 2017, Tony Trischka was inducted in the American Banjo Museum's Hall of Fame for Excellence in Education and Instruction.

Also receiving an award that night was the legendary John McEuen, best known for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and his work with Steve Martin.

John has had a very full career and recorded and performed with the very best in the Bluegrass world including the likes of Earl Scruggs, Doc Watson, Roy Acuff, Merle Travis and Maybelle Carter.
