Tony Trischka Celebrates 10 Years with ArtistWorks
From the moment we decided to open the ArtistWorks online Banjo course, Tony Trischka was at the top of our minds to lead it.
For nearly 40 years, Tony has been at the forefront of the Bluegrass genre, evolving the style as much as he’s preserved it. Since 1971, he has recorded numerous solo albums, collaborated with artists like Peter Rowan and Stacy Phillips, and produced Steve Martin's Grammy-nominated album, Rare Bird Alert. He has continued to push boundaries as one of the world's top banjo players, lending his expertise as music director for the documentary Give Me the Banjo. Currently, Tony is on tour around the United States playing with several artists, and performing at historic sites, such as the Grand Ole Opry in late August.
And now, Tony Trischka is celebrating 10 years of teaching online Banjo lessons at ArtistWorks. As we celebrate one decade of working with Tony, we reflect on the many students he’s inspired and counseled. We’re confident that each student he’s mentored left his lessons a more developed player than when they first joined. Tony’s greatest strengths are derived from his earnest passion for his instrument, a passion that he’s successfully translated into teaching. In all aspects of the ArtistWorks Banjo course, Tony’s gone above and beyond; we’re proud to be witness to the community he’s built, and the music he’s inspired.
Tony’s storied career speaks for itself! We’re humbled that he’s chosen to partner with us in delivering unparalleled music education to interested students, regardless of geographic location. Here’s to another decade on the horizon, Tony. Congratulations for all you’ve achieved.
