Tremendous summer winding up
Back in Boston after a monumental season of string camps and clinics, festivals, and travelling:
Clinics, camps, concerts, visiting and festers in Kansas, Colorado, California, Oregon, Wisconsin, Colorado again, Michigan, North Carolina, Nashville...whew.
While doing the clinics (3) and string camps (4) I was able to work out some new ideas about teaching which I will be sharing with the Fiddle School here. Watch for a new series on Backup and some new approaches to improvising in these coming months. The string camps at Shasta, Julie Leiberman's Strings Without Boundaries, Mike Block's String Camp in Michigan, and Fiddle Week at Swannanoa Gathering were all so fabulous and different in wonderful ways.
While we were in Swannanoa, I did a little interview with the legendary fiddler Bobby Hicks. Somehow the camera went on the fritz while that happened, but I'm hoping the technical geniuses at ArtistWorks Central can fix it soon.
best,
Darol
