When Schools Collide! Recording Session with Mike Block in Boston!
Lookie here! I just finished an awesome recording project with the amazing ArtistWorks cello teacher Mike Block! We were joined by violinist-extraordinaire Ari Issacman-Beck laying down tracks of piano trios and a violin/piano sonata at the legendary Dimension Sound Studios in Boston. Recording is always an intense exercise, but when you're collaborating with world-class musicians, it's a special delight! I actually contributed some piano accompaniment tracks for Mike when he was launching his ArtistWorks Multi-Style Cello School, but we never actually met in person until two days ago, and it felt like we were already old friends. It's amazing how small the music world can seem as we reflected on how many colleagues we both had in common! And keep your eyes out for Ari - he just finished a teaching stint at Gettysburg College, and is sure to make more big waves in the music world!
And as a special "reward" to myself for a hard day's work, I treated myself to an Omikase (chef's selection) meal at Cafe Sushi. Yum!
