Just wanted to let everyone know about the useful Drone CD that I made for getting in tune and generally zoning out with fiddles or whatever. Itcontains drones of 2 tonics an octave apart plus a true (not tempered!) fifth It's a very intense, wonderful sound.  Each drone lasts roughly six minutes and the CD plays through all the keys in order (the circle of 4ths starting from C).
The technique of playing along with a drone has been used in Indian classical music for hundreds of years, and it's really fun. Great for getting those funny notes in tune, in a relaxed way, and it's great for playing fiddle tunes with also.
