Award-winning master guitarist, co-founder of bands Racer X and Mr. Big, and internationally-renowned shred guitar icon, Paul Gilbert has been an instructor at ArtistWorks since 2012 and has played an integral role in helping us achieve, and continue to live up to, our mission, vision, and values.

We’re excited, proud, and honored to announce that yesterday, May 23, 2022, marked the 10th anniversary of Paul’s rock guitar course here at ArtistWorks.

“I just want to keep connecting with musicians,” Paul explained when asked about the 10-year milestone. “I'm happy that people are interested in rock, and all the styles overlap with it. I have always felt a kinship with musicians, and I'm happy to have such an amazing way to hang out with players all over the world. My goal is to try to make guitar playing a little bit easier for all of them.”

Over the last 10 years, Paul has amassed hundreds of videos as part of his course’s online lesson library, which is constantly growing and evolving. Paul has also provided direct, personal guidance and feedback to thousands of his students over the years, and has built a collection of over 12,700 Video Exchanges that all of his students can access and learn from as a member of his course.

“I'm happy that students often follow my example and play guitar first,” Paul says. “When I listen to them play, I get the best idea of what I can do to help or inspire them. I've found, from being a student myself, that the best questions are usually the ones that I haven't thought of yet! Then three lessons in, you start to figure out where you really are, and what you need to work on.”
