4 Ways to Have a Musical Memorial Day
The unofficial start of summer is finally here! Social distancing may still be in effect, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make this holiday weekend as special as years past. Save big this weekend by using code MD100 to save $100 on most 1-year plans, and check out our tips on how to have a musical Memorial Day.
Learn a patriotic song
You’re going to hear a lot of patriotic songs this weekend, so why not learn one for yourself? Whether you’re interested in “The Star Spangled Banner” or something more modern like “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” there are a multitude of songs out there that honor America and are begging to be learned.
Practice outside
While it’s still imperative that we all follow social distancing regulations, playing outside could be a nice change of pace that produces some wonderful results. Soaking in some rays and hearing the birds chirp provides a form of relaxation unlike any other, and that’s sure to influence your playing. Just make sure you apply some sunscreen and wear a mask beforehand.
Try a new genre
There's nothing more American than Bluegrass, Jazz, Blues and good ol' fashioned Rock and Roll. Branching out to a new genre is sure to shake up your normal practice routine, plus you’ll learn some new playing techniques along the way!
Perform for friends and family virtually
Although backyard BBQs may be put on hiatus for a bit, that doesn’t mean you can’t still connect with loved ones this weekend. A virtual get together is the perfect opportunity to show off the progress you’ve made on your online music lessons, and fellow musicians can join in on the action as well!
This Memorial Day may not feel like others, but we're inviting you to make the best of your time at home and join us learning music online. Use code MD100 and save $100 on most 1-year plans!
