As we progress further into these challenging and uncertain times, it is essential not to let the outside world distract us from what’s truly important. 

Here at ArtistWorks, we believe music has the power to soothe, unite, and heal. Our goal, as always, is to keep players connected to each other and their music. That’s why we’ve decided to give back to the music community by providing universities with free lessons throughout this crisis.

With traditional classes shutting down, our online music faculty have been stepping up to the plate to ensure that their students continue to receive quality music education. Since the start of social distancing, ArtistWorks jazz guitar instructor Dave Stryker has been teaching his university students at Rutgers, Indiana University and Montclair University through our online music lessons and Video Exchanges. Likewise, ArtistWorks jazz drumming instructor Peter Erskine is offering similar online educational experiences for his students at the USC Thornton School of Music.

Throughout this crisis, we are giving free lessons to 55 students at the Good Wave Music Academy who offers music lessons on guitar, ‘ukulele, drums, bass, keyboard/piano, violin and vocals at a professional standard in Polokwane South Africa so that their music instruction can continue at home.

During these times of struggle, it is helpful to connect with the therapeutic power of music. Stay safe, stay healthy, and keep on playing.
