ArtistWorks Summer Series—Week 1: Tony Trischka
Welcome to the first week of the ArtistWorks Summer Series! Every week this summer, we’ll be dropping new lessons, performances, study materials, and more from some of your favorite ArtistWorks teachers.
This week, we’re excited to debut over a dozen brand new online banjo lessons from world-renowned bluegrass banjoist and one of the longest-standing members of our premier ArtistWorks faculty, Tony Trischka.
Tony’s new lessons cover material that spans the entire range of his banjo curriculum—outlining fresh concepts for beginner, intermediate, and advanced players alike. With these new lessons, Tony’s course now features a total of over 130 hours of video content.
Alongside Tony’s video instruction, these lessons include brand new learning materials to supplement Tony’s teaching, including tablature, play-along backing tracks, and more. Furthermore, in addition to lessons on a variety of new techniques and concepts, Tony also teaches how to play six brand new tunes, including “Go Tell Aunt Rhody,” “The Crawdad Song,” “Marching Jaybird,” and “Jonestown Blues.”
Want to dive in and start playing right away? Check out this online banjo lesson from Tony’s assortment of new videos in which Tony details the concept of Diatonic Chords, using the ascending chords that make up a G Major scale as an example.
