On the podcast Bryan discusses what made Doc Watson not only an inspirational figure for  him, but also an entire generation of guitar players who brought the instrument to the forefront of the bluegrass genre. "There was a Doc Watson sound – it was equal parts strong guitar technique combined with a joyous folksy style of singing,” Bryan shares. “He always had a smile in his voice. That’s what I loved about Doc. His guitar parts were challenging and his singing was inviting, which made his music good food for the head and the heart."
