“Electric Bass with Stu Hamm” is Now Open!
We are absolutely ecstatic to announce that our newest course, “Electric Bass with Stu Hamm,” is officially here! As of 12 pm PT, the course is officially live and open to all students.
Widely considered one of the premier bassists of the progressive rock and fusion scenes, Stu Hamm is a technique-pioneering powerhouse of the low-end. With a unique style all his own, Stu is recognized and revered by bass players around the globe and has shared the stage with some of the world’s best musicians.
Most commonly known for his boundary-pushing, funk-inspired thump supporting shred and rock guitar giants like Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Frank Gambale, Gretchen Menn, and more, Stu employs a unique combination of two-hand tapping, slapping, and sliding harmonics alongside traditional fingerstyle techniques to create an approach that has reinvented the rock bass guitar paradigm. Through Stu’s online bass guitar lessons here at ArtistWorks, you’ll learn the ins and outs of Stu’s distinct approach to rock bass playing, and the intricate techniques and methods that shape Stu’s one-of-a-kind sound and style.
“This course will give you a well-rounded overview of the way that I approach harmony on the fretboard—hand positioning, outlining chords, seeing intervals, and understanding note relationships,” Stu explains. “This is a course for players of all levels, so, regardless of your current skill level, this will make you a better musician and a better bass player.”
In addition to countless hours performing on stages around the globe, Stu is also an experienced and dedicated music educator. In 2011, Stu accepted the position of Director of Bass Programs at the prestigious Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, CA, a role which he held for several years. He also continues to be one of the world’s most sought-after and in-demand bass clinicians, traveling worldwide to teach bass students of all levels.
Stu has drawn from decades of performance experience to create a comprehensive course of bass guitar lessons online designed to teach players of all levels how to play rock bass guitar. So, whether you're starting from scratch or you’re an experienced player looking to break new ground, learn with Stu and get an intimate look into his unique approach and style. Grow as a bass player while simultaneously furthering yourself as a musician, and get direct guidance from Stu at every step of your musical journey.
“There’s a great community of bass players here at ArtistWorks,” Stu explains. “We can all share ideas, videos, and music, and learn together. I hope to see you online!”
