Guitar Business Radio Interviews Guthrie Trapp

Guthrie Trapp Guitar Business Radio Interview

ArtistWorks Electric Country Guitar instructor, Guthrie Trapp, sat down with Guitar Business Radio to discuss Nashville’s evolving and diversifying music scene.

During his 17 years of playing guitar around the world, Guthrie Trapp has always considered Nashville to be home. He’s played alongside classic country greats in Music City, U.S.A, including John Oats, Patty Loveless, and Trisha Yearwood. He shares many of his high-profile experiences in this recent podcast.

Guthrie begins the interview by expanding on his early years and introduction to music. Guthrie sheds light on his experience being raised on the gulf coast, surrounded by substantial musical talent. Shaped by a tight-knit, artistic community, Guthrie found independence in his own craft at a young age. Unlike other parts of the U.S., the music of his community was predominantly Bluegrass, Folk, and Americana.

His parents didn’t shy away from bringing him to large live music events from a young age. Community and sound became synonymous, as holidays and family gatherings usually devolved into “picking parties”.

Music was never something Guthrie simply did, but rather became what defined him. While many young musicians stray away from their musical passions with age, Guthrie never lost sight of the love he found for the guitar at age nine.

Sound familiar to your own journey with the guitar? Head over the Guitar Business Radio to catch the rest of Guthrie’s interview.
