Guthrie Trapp & John Oates: Acoustic Duo Tour
Last week, ArtistWorks electric country guitar instructor and one of Nashville’s most sought-after session musicians, Guthrie Trapp announced an upcoming tour with songwriter, guitarist, and founding member of the rock and soul duo Hall & Oates, John Oates.
This tour does not mark the first time Guthrie and John will be sharing the stage. They have toured and performed around the world together many times throughout the last several years. Unlike some of their prior tours, however, this upcoming series of performances will feature the two musicians as a stripped-down acoustic guitar duet, with John providing solo vocals over the top of the pair of six-strings. These shows are certain to be an intimate showcase of musicianship and talent unlike any other.
“I’m loving this duo and being able to hang with one of my best friends and make great music,” Guthrie explains. “We’re playing two acoustic guitars with Ear Trumpet microphones that sound wonderful, telling stories, and playing some super fun material.”
The tour will kick off on March 16, 2022, with a total of seven shows currently scheduled with tickets available for purchase, although Guthrie assures us that additional dates will be announced soon.
“The material we’re performing on this tour is like an Americana roadmap,” Guthrie explains. “We are loving it, and I hope you do too. We have seven shows announced, but more dates will be added soon.”
The seven shows that have been announced will be held in states throughout the northeast and will run from March 16 through March 26, 2022:
3/16/22 — The Colonial Theatre: Phoenixville, PA
3/18/22 — Colonial Theatre Laconia: Laconia, NH
3/19/22 — The Norwood Theater: Norwood, MA
3/20/22 — The Ridgefield Playhouse: Ridgefield, CT
3/22/22 — Sony Hall: New York, NY
3/24/22 — Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club: Bethesda, MD
