July 9th String Explosion was a hit at Berkeley's Freight & Salvage.

This event, at one of the greatest acoustic venues in the world, was organized by two of the most influential young string players in the country: Tristan and Tashina Clarridge.

They run a special summer camp for their favorite string musicians, and the show is a spinoff of that camp.

Darol was very involved, as well as the incredible fiddlers Tristan and Tashina, Billy Contreras, Brittany Haas and Jeremy Kittel, Artistworks Banjo God Tony Trischka, Mandolinist Supremo Mike Marshall, guitarists Sean Watkins, David Grier, Roger Tallroth, Grant Gordy, The Bee Eaters, David Keenan, Kristin Andreassen (of Uncle Earl), and a boatload of other young and old insanely great fiddle, cello, mandolin and other players and singers... the list is so long as to be almost ridiculous.
