You can now listen online to the 'Spirit of Django Orchestral Suite'
The piece was commissioned by the International Guitar Festival of Great Britain, co-written by Martin Taylor & Guy Barker based on 6 of Martin's themes.
Martin first performed the suite in 2010 with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Guy Barker Jazz Orchestra, Martin Taylor's Spirit of Django, and was conducted by Guy Barker.
This recording came from this year's BBC Proms live from London's Royal Albert Hall and featured the Britten Sinfonia, the Guy Barker Jazz Orchestra, and Martin Taylor's Spirit of Django.
There is a 5 minute onstage interview with Martin and Guy at the beginning, then it goes into the suite. There is also the added bonus of Martin playing Guy Barker's orchestral arrangement of Django Renhardt's 'Nuages' as an encore (featuring the chromatic run that Martin demonstrated in his latest 'Message From Martin'
