New Album: Dave Stryker’s ‘Baker’s Circle’
Listen to Baker’s Circle, the new album from ArtistWorks’ Jazz Guitar master Dave Stryker
Stryker is a six-string jazz legend, having recorded 30 critically acclaimed albums as a bandleader and dozens more as a featured sideman with stars like the great tenor saxophonist Stanley Turrentine, organist Jack McDuff and others. Check out his new album and see why The Village Voice called him “one of the most distinctive guitarists to come along in recent years."
His latest album, Baker’s Circle, is named in tribute to another Indiana University faculty member, one of the godfathers of jazz education, David Baker. The record features performances from organist Jaren Gold, tenor sax player Walter Smith III, McClenty Hunter is on drums, plus Mayra Casales plays percussion on two tracks. The bass is courtesy of Gold’s two feet on the organ.
