Ricardo Morales Talks about his Clarinet
Ricardo Morales has worked a lot with Backun Musical Services, whose mission is "Reinventing the Clarinet One Piece at a Time". In their latest edition of Clarinet Concepts, Ricardo Morales tells us about his own clarinet, which he worked with Morrie Backun to develop. Ricardo's clarinet is made from Cocobolo wood which produces a "very gentle beautiful sound".
Although Ricardo prefers the Cocobolo wood, he stresses that the most important thing is for "YOU to be happy and for you to be excited about the instrument that works best for you, and the one that allows you to be the best version of your musical self." He emphasizes the importance of finding your own voice when playing clarinet, which is exactly what he helps his students with in his clarinet lessons at the online Clarinet School with Ricardo Morales.
