Turntablism Education Shows Recap

TonspeilzeugAlex Sonnenfeld has been busy! In addition to his exclusive "Real Instrument Skratching" series on QSU, he's been steadily releasing a new skratch tutorial each week on a variety of topics.  If you haven't been following him, here's what you've been missing:

1. "Fundamentals"

Alex's first tutorial in the new series deals with some basic movements & fundamental turntable techniques. 

2. "Principales"

Here Alex explains different principles to derive scratch patterns really easy using the swing flare to demonstrate the different composing methods.

3. "3 Clicker"

Here Alex presents some ideas and techniques for using different "3-click" patterns on the crossfader.

4. "Practice & Training Schedule"

This lesson gives you some helpful hints to build up a training schedule.  It includes methods to advance the rhythmical feeling and muscle foundation related to the basic movements on the fader. 

5. "Drumming"

This lesson tackles drumming and some helpful hints related to drum skratching.

6. "2 Groups"

In this lesson Alex starts to explain different playing strategies of using groups of 2 record motions. 

7. "Boomerang"

In this lesson Alex explains different methods for the Boomerang scratch (cross rhythm, triplet, accentuation). He also breaks down the difference between the Aquaman and the Boomerang and presents some new variations (Aquaboom, Autoboom).

8. "New Flaring"

In this tutorial you will find some new variations of the flare technique: Kakaoflare, Kakaoflare (tuplet), Delayed 1-Click Orbit (odd numbered), Delayed 1-Click Flare (even numbered) and 2-3 Flare Combo.

9. "3 Groups"

In this lesson Alex explains different playing strategies of using groups of 3 record motions.
