‘Ukulele Lesson: How to Play “Lullaby”
All of us at ArtistWorks would like to congratulate our ’ukulele masters Sarah Maisel and Craig Chee on the arrival of their baby boy! To help commemorate the occasion, here’s a lesson that features Craig teaching the fittingly titled tune, “Lullaby.”
This song utilizes a constant, basic plucking pattern and a limited number of ’ukulele chords, making it an excellent choice for beginners. You’ll be using C, G, F, and G7 here, so brush up on those finger placements before diving in.
The pattern you’ll be performing here is fairly simple — pinch, pluck, pluck. Be sure to familiarize yourself with this technique, as it will be repeated throughout the entire song. This song has a waltz-feel, meaning there are only three beats per measure, and each pluck gets its own beat.
Check out Craig’s full video lesson below, and have a great time learning this beautiful tune. Once you’ve got it down, keep in mind there is a more advanced version of the song in Craig & Sarah’s curriculum that utilizes additional techniques to further enhance the arrangement.
