Will Paul Gilbert Really Respond To Me?

We get all kinds of questions about ArtistWorks. Recently we got an email from someone who thought our Video Exchange learning was too good to be true:

“...I’m just wondering if it's actually Paul Gilbert leading the way here? How could he possibly have the time to teach all of the me's out there?"

So how does he do it?

ArtistWorks is designed for working musicians (and people like you) whose lives are in constant motion…

In this example, Paul Gilbert is traveling through Italy to another city on a tour to promote a new album. He has some time before the next stop. So he gets out his laptop and watches some student Video Exchange submissions waiting for him to review.

All Paul's students are working on something different. Here's three of them, Gustavo, Stephen, and Danny:

Gustavo has a question about his thumb, which was causing him some pain. Paul knows just the thing to tell him.

“Hey Gustavo! I don’t want your thumb to hurt, so let’s have a look at some thumb technique…”

Stephen sent in an original composition he’s working on. Paul wants him to take it further.

“Alright Stephen, sounding good! I want to give you some phrasing ideas…”

Danny asked about a way to clean up his technique. Ask and you shall receive!

“Danny! I want to show you a couple tweaks you can do to expand on that lick, these will be great for you…”

There you have it. After Paul reached his destination, he uploaded each Video Exchange to the website. Now they live in the Video Exchange Library where his students can watch and learn from them forever.

There's over 4000 Paul Gilbert / student Video Exchanges now, with more coming all the time. Each one is a testament to Paul's dedication.

Because when you love guitar like Paul Gilbert, sharing that feeling with other people is what it’s all about.

If you take time to send him a video, he’ll make time to respond - no matter how busy the rock life gets.
