Beginner guitar players are often looking for the best place to start learning and that includes finding the most suitable teacher and online guitar lessons. In this video, David Butler, author of the “Beginner’s Guide to Acoustic Guitar” at ArtistWorks, shares his insights on embarking on that musical journey. He explains “I don’t presume players know how to play guitar or know anything about it, so I start at the most basic level.”

Throughout this video series that was designed for adult beginner guitar players, David has given pointers on how the first steps in learning to play can be successful. This week he provides a bit of a recap on the fundamental concepts he’s shared, like how to avoid “fighting” an ill-fitted guitar and how to set the right learning expectations that will lead to years of enjoyment and success.
“A good online guitar course should be appropriate to your level and ‘complete’, in that it covers everything you might have missed yourself. There should be no gaps,” he advises.
David tells us that he teaches his online guitar students how to play the instrument, not where to put their fingers so they can play a single song. As the teacher of hundreds of online guitar lessons at ArtistWorks.com, David shares his success oriented strategies that beginner players can employ early, so they enjoy years of learning and playing.
